Konect Aviation Oregon, LLC of McMinnville, Oregon is hosting an Aviation Explorer Post Open House for the Boy Scouts of America this Saturday January, 21st at 10:00 am at the McMinnville Municipal Airport. Geared toward High School students, the Explorer Post provides students the opportunity to 'explore' aviation as a career field. Participants will get to meet aviation professionals, ask questions, and do hands-on aviation-related projects. The event is open to students and family members interested in learning more about the program.
The Open House is the first of a series of workshops introducing youth to the fun and exciting world of aviation. “This is the beginning of a long-term partnership with the Boy Scouts of America to promote aviation in our community and introduce aviation to the next generation. Due to a pilot shortage, the earnings potential for entry-level commercial airplane pilots is comparable with a graduate-level education and achievable in a fraction of the time. Youth who become aware of the opportunity, and get started, will have a huge advantage.” Says Holly Nehls, Owner and General Manager of Konect Aviation.
The event is free and open to the public.
